BLACKIE & CREAMY are our Featured Pets Of The Week!

Blackie
ID No. 11616
is a 1 1/2 year old short-haired black male.
His sandy colored eyes will win you over.
Many black cats get overlooked at shelters
but his playful fellow reaches out
of the cage for attention.
He loves to play and is housebroken.
His owner couldn't afford to keep
Blackie and his pal, Creamy.
Blackie has been neutered
by the shelter so he is
all set to go home.

Creamy

He came to the shelter with Blackie
because their owner can't afford to keep them.
Creamy being the older of the two is more
laid back and takes things in stride.
He has extra toes on his front paws
and is a real sweetheart.
He is housebroken and has been
neutered so he is all set to go home.

DOUGIE
(GOLIATH)
 No. 11437
is a 4 year old male shepherd/
chow chow mix.
His coloring is an amazing reddish
brown with a darker face.
Poor Dougie is nervous about shelter life
but is starting to come around.
The shelter staff has been working with him.
We found out he really likes other dogs.
He loves some of the shelter workers but
is still frightened by strangers.
Lisa, a shelter employee, has even trained
him to take a bagel from her mouth.
He listens well and will make
a wonderful pet for the right family.

Dougie has been with us for
far too long. He needs a family to
call his own so if you have room in
your heart & home for this
lovable, wonderful dog...

Thank you everyone for helping
Patches live a pain-free life!

LaylaLooHoo is our Featured Pet Of The Week!

Layla Loo Hoo
No. 11827
is a lovely female black and tan
Australian shepherd mix.
She came to the shelter to raise
her babies until they were ready for
new homes so she has
been with us a while.
Layla Loo Hoo was a great mom
and is just a sweet heart of a dog.
She is about 7 years old and knows "Sit".
She is finally putting on some weight
after feeding all her puppies.
The shelter has had her spayed so
she is all set for a new home.
This super friendly, calm girl
likes everyone and other
animals so she will make
a terrific companion.

Patches Update

We're so happy to report that the donations for
Patches' surgery have been coming in steadily.
We have a bit more than $3,000 toward her
surgery fee of $4,000 so things are looking
great for this sweet doggy.
We've also had a few applications
from potential adopters so Patches
might have a loving home to go to
while she recovers from this major surgery.

We will continue to try and raise the funds
for Patches. If we're lucky enough to have
money left over, it will be held for the next
pet who needs elective surgery, dental care
or a procedure that would enhance their life.

Thank you all for helping Patches!!

Patches Says...

Patches wanted you to know that she can
feel the love coming her way!

Donations are coming in to the shelter
and through the Chip-In widget to the right
of your screen. We're getting closer to our
goal every day thanks to the good-hearted
people all over the United States.

We've received donations from as far
away as Arizona for Patches' surgery!

I promise that as soon as the shelter staff
can get me the information, I'll let you
know how close we are to getting the
$4,000 for Patches' surgery.

Keep in mind...
if we go over the goal, this money will
be deposited in a special fund for the
next pet that needs help for a medical
condition such as a correctable dental
problem, ear problem, eye problem, etc.

We always take care of the emergencies...
it's the elective surgery/procedure that
we can't really afford on our budget.

Thank you for helping Patches and
for the next pet that needs help!

Mork & Mindy are our Featured Pets Of The Week!

We don't usually feature two pets together but
these two adorable dogs were traveling
together as strays. They are so close and
so loving that we'd like to place them in a
new home together. We feel that each would
be heartbroken if they were separated.
If you have room in your heart & home
for these two cuddlebugs, please call

MORK
No. 11891

Mork, a black and tan male German
shepherd mix about 2-3 years old,
is a total love bug! He came to the shelter
with little Manchester terrier female, Mindy.
These two really love each other.
In fact Mork curls up on his bed in the
kennel and Mindy curls up on top of him.
They are both such sweet dogs and
 love to give people kisses.
Mork has been neutered by the
and is ready for a new home.

MINDY
No. 11892

Mindy is black and tan with a docked
tail and is about 3-4 years old.
She is not the usual barky little dog but
likes to run about when on the leash.
Mork and Mindy would really like a
home together since they
are very bonded together.
If you have room in your heart for
two loving dogs who will
give you tons of kisses and love,
these are the pups for you!

PATCHES UPDATE
We are very happy to report that
donations are coming in for
the specialized ear surgery for
our sweet girl Patches.
This is going to be a long road
for Patches. We have consulted
many Veterinary specialists and
so far have been told that this is
a very complicated surgery. In a
nutshell, the calcified bones in
each ear have to be scraped &
reshaped. Not an easy task when
you think of how a dog's ear
canal is shaped. Human ear canals
are in a straight line. Dog canals have
an almost 90 degree turn deep down.

Patches is still so sweet and patient.
She is good on the leash and walks
outside with a volunteer in a gentle
manner, enjoying a good sniff or
feeling the sun on her fur. She really
doesn't like shelter life because it's
foreign to her but that hasn't
changed her mellow demeanor.

Please see the post below if
you'd like to help Patches.
